As time has passed, technology has been pushed to its limits and grown. Specifically speaking, capturing images with a 180 degree view has opened up to being able to capture images in a 360 degree view. 360 degree cameras have opened the world up to viewing more in a single image or video.
360 degree cameras also referred to as omnidirectional cameras, have been used for a variety of things, panoramic photos, robotics and videoconferencing are all just a few places that this camera is useful for. The use for these cameras date back to the early 1900’s. Panoramic cameras were being used for films by placing the cameras to be able to rotate using swing lens, and this gave a 180 degree view. In 1904 a Cirkut camera was patented and capable of viewing 360 degree photography(A Brief History of Panoramic Photography - Panoramic Photographs).
Throughout the 1900’s the use for cameras like such grew and different cameras came out that took the first aerial photos of U.S. Navy planes in 1904. In 1969 the 360 cameras evolved into being an electrically driven camera and the a battery powered camera in 1973(McBride, Bill).
Eventually we see how this camera and its uses evolve and are used in many different kinds of business in order for companies to stay in competition with one another.
